Does my insurance cover transportation services?

There is no clear and easy method of LAS to know what your specific insurance plan may or may not cover. We strongly recommend you contact your carrier to confirm coverage. We have an amazing team of billing personnel staff available by phone that can assist you navigate your unique insurance plan, and together, we can research your plan’s specifics.

Does Medicare cover wheelchair transportation?

No, wheelchair transportation is not a covered benefit of Medicare or commercial insurances.

What does Medicaid Cover?

Medicaid will cover medically necessary transportation and follows CMS Medicare policies. In cases where patients are confined to their beds, Medicaid will also cover round trip transportation to doctor’s offices, dental offices, blood work etc. with a referral from their primary care.

What if I do not have coverage for transportation services?

Lamoille Ambulance Services will accept credit and debit cards along with checks that are paid and cashed upfront. Other options exist, and our compassionate administration staff will be happy to help you find a solution that will work for you and your family.

Does Medicare pay for non-emergency ambulance transportation?

As a rule of thumb, we follow the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) policies concerning coverage. To decide if your situation qualifies for ambulance coverage through the Medicare please click on the provided link and select Chapter 10.
